About OCD
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is a mental illness that gets the sufferer stuck in a series of obsessions, or unwanted thoughts, and compulsions, things the sufferers do to alleviate the anxiety from these thoughts.
ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD. It involves facing the OCD sufferer’s fears (exposures) and not doing the compulsions that follow.

About Us
Our organization began with Lauren Ryan, the founder of the OCD Education Project- she had a severe bout of OCD and mental illness. She began seeing an ERP therapist, who worked hard with her to alleviate those symptoms. Lauren noticed firsthand that many therapists say they treat OCD but actually use techniques that are detrimental to their clients.
Lauren began to see the need for more therapists to learn ERP- they just don’t know it yet! She thought that, by introducing psychology and social work students to ERP therapy, these “pre-professionals” may become interested in learn ERP and treat OCD clients!
Beginning in the Fall 2024 college semester, we have been guest-lecturing in universities who have a psychology or social work departments. We have presented at university psychology classes and mental health awareness clubs, and are in hopes of beginning to guest-lecture to college counseling services.
Our passion for OCD and ERP awareness has driven more people to learn and get excited about becoming ERP therapists!
We are very interested in your input and interest, and we welcome you to join us or ask for a guest-lecture to your class or event!
